Mae tîm arbenigol Namau ar y Golwg yn rhan hollbwysig o wasanaeth cynhwysiant Awdurdod Lleol Caerdydd. Rydym yn darparu cymorth, cyngor, hyfforddiant, asesiadau a dysgu uniongyrchol ansawdd uchel er mwyn sicrhau bod disgyblion sydd â nam ar y golwg yn cael eu cynnwys ac yn cyflawni yn ein hysgolion. Agwedd allweddol ar ein rôl yw ehangu gallu ein lleoliadau addysgol er mwyn gwella dealltwriaeth a chynnig darpariaeth ragorol i bobl ifanc sydd â namau ar y golwg mewn lleoliadau prif ffrwd ac arbenigol.
 
Bydd gweithio gyda’n gwasanaeth i geisio cynnwys pobl ifanc sydd â namau ar y golwg yn cael effaith gadarnhaol ar les a chyflawniad y grwp unigryw hwn o ddysgwyr.
 
Gallwn ni ddarparu hyfforddiant, offer, adnoddau arbenigol, addysg uniongyrchol, annibyniaeth, symudedd a sgiliau hunan-gynnal, modelu arfer da ac atebion ymarferol. 
 
Rydym ni’n ymfalchïo yn ein dull “gwrando” hyblyg sy’n anelu at ddiwallu anghenion statudol y plentyn unigol yn unol ag athroniaeth a blaenoriaethau’r lleoliad addysg y mae wedi’i ddewis a sicrhau bod dulliau gweithredu unigryw yn cael eu datblygu sy’n addas ar gyfer ystod o anghenion dysgu a synhwyraidd. The Vision Impairment Specialist team is a vital part of Cardiff Local Authority’s inclusion service. We provide high quality support, advice, training, assessment and direct teaching to ensure the inclusion and achievement of pupils with vision impairments within our schools. A key aspect of our role is building capacity across educational settings to achieve greater understanding and excellent provision for young people with visual impairments in mainstream and specialist settings.

 

Working with our service to seek to include young people with visual impairments will have a positive impact on the wellbeing and achievement of this unique group of learners.

 

We can provide training, equipment, specialist resources, direct teaching, independence, mobility and habilitation skills, modelling of good practice, and practical solutions.

 

We pride ourselves on a flexible, ‘listening’ approach which seeks to tailor the statutory needs of the individual child with the philosophy and priorities of the educational setting they have chosen, to ensure that individualised approaches are developed to suit a range of learning and vision needs. We are happy to take the thoughts and aims of the child, the school, and their wider family into account when supporting access to learning.
