Gwyl Organ 2019

 

 

Am y tro cyntaf yng Nghymru, cynhelir yr wyl eilflwydd yma yng Nghaerdydd ar Medi 6ed – 8fed. Mae’r rhaglen yn cynnwys:

 

Dydd Gwener, 6ed Medi am 7.30yh – Datganiad yn Eglwys Dewi Sant, Cilgant Sant Andrew gan Gerard Brooks (Organydd, y Neuadd Ganolog, San Steffan, Llundain) yn cynnwys cerddoriaeth gan Bach, Mendelssohn a chyfansoddwyr eraill o Loegr a Ffrainc.
 
Dydd Sadwrn, 7fed Medi am 11.00yb yn Neuadd Dewi Sant
Bydd David Pipe (Organydd Cadeirlan Leeds) yn cyflwyno gweithiau yn cynnwys "Mr Majeika and the Magic Organ" gan Bob Chilcott sy’n seiliedig ar stori i blant gan Humphrey Carpenter, ynghyd â cherddoriaeth o Harry Potter a Star Wars. Yn y gyngerdd hon i’r teulu bydd yna gyfle hefyd i chwarae'r "Wooden One-Octave Organ for Young Technologists" – profiad ymarferol diddorol i blant.
 
Y prynhawn hwnnw am 2.30 bydd datganiad gan Gerard Brooks ar yr organ Henry Willis yn Eglwys Sant Ioan yng Nghanol y Ddinas, gan gynnwys cerddoriaeth gan Bach, Franck a Widor.
 
Y noson honno am 7.30 bydd datganiad yng Nghadeirlan Llandaf gan David Briggs o Sant Ioan y Difinydd, Efrog Newydd. Mae ei raglen yn cynnwys gwaith difyfyr symffonig mawreddog ar alawon o Gymru.
 
Dydd Sul, 8fed Medi am 11.00yb (ac eto am 12.00 hanner dydd) Datganiad yn yr Amgueddfa Genedlaethol, Plas-y-Parc, Parc Cathays gan Robert Court o Brifysgol Caerdydd ar organ y siambr ac araith gan Geidwad y Celfyddydau ar yr arddangosfa hon a rhai eraill.

OrganFest 2019

 

 

For the first time in Wales the biennial festival will be held in Cardiff the weekend of 6/8th September. The programme includes:

 

Friday, 6th September at 7.30pm - Recital in Eglwys Dewi Sant, St Andrews Place by Gerard Brooks (Organist , Central Hall, Westminster) of works by Bach, Mendelssohn and other English and French composers.

 

Saturday, 7th September at 11.00am in St David’s Hall David Pipe (Organist of Leeds Cathedral) introduces works including Bob Chilcott’s “Mr Majeika and the Magic Organ”, based on Humphrey Carpenter’s children story ; plus Harry Potter and Star Wars. This family concert also features the Wooden One-Octave Organ for Young Technologists – a fascinating hands-on experience for children.

 

That afternoon at 2.30 Gerard Brooks plays Bach, Franck and Widor on the Henry Willis organ in the City Centre Church of St John the Baptist.

 

That evening at 7.30 Recital in Llandaff Cathedral by David Briggs of St John the Divine, New York. His programme includes a large scale symphonic improvisation on Welsh Melodies.

 

Sunday, 8th September at 11.00am (and repeated at 12 noon) Recital in the National Museum, Park Place, by Robert Court of Cardiff University on the Chamber organ and a talk by the Keeper of Art on this and other exhibits.
