Foster Care Fortnight // Pythefnos Gofal Maeth

This is a bilingual message // Mae hon yn neges ddwyieithog.

Cynhelir Pythefnos Gofal Maeth rhwng 13 a 26 Mai. Dyma neges arbennig gan Gyngor Caerdydd am sut gallwch chi newid bywyd plentyn lleol.

Hoffech chi ddefnyddio eich sgiliau i wneud gwahaniaeth i fywydau pobl ifanc Caerdydd? Ydych chi’n chwilio am rôl lle gallwch ddatblygu eich hun yn bersonol ac yn broffesiynol? Ydych chi eisiau swydd newydd neu ffynhonnell incwm ychwanegol?

Yna, gallai maethu fod yn ddewis da i chi!

Wyddech chi fod bron i 900 o blant yn derbyn gofal yng Nghaerdydd ar hyn o bryd? Mae Cyngor Caerdydd yn rhiant corfforaethol i bob un o’r plant hyn. Golyga hyn fod cyfrifoldeb cyfreithiol arnon ni i sicrhau y lleolir y plant a’r bobl ifanc mewn cartrefi a fydd yn eu cefnogi i ffynnu a datblygu. Er mai cyfrifoldeb cyfreithiol yw hwn, mae’n un yr ydym ni’n mynd ati i’w gyflawni gydag angerdd a balchder.

Mae Cyngor Caerdydd yn sefydliad nid-er-elw. Efallai bod hyn yn swnio’n eithaf amlwg, ond mae’n bwysig pwysleisio y caiff pob ceiniog sy’n cael ei rhoi i gyllideb ein gwasanaethau maethu ei gwario ar wella bywydau plant a phobl ifanc yma yn y Brifddinas.

Ein prif bwyslais yw rhoi ein plant gyda theuluoedd cariadus a chefnogol a all gefnogi eu hanghenion. Rydym yn credu mai’r ffordd orau o sicrhau hyn yw lleoli pobl ifanc gyda’n gofalwyr maeth mewnol ein hun a gyflogir gan y Cyngor.

Foster Care Fortnight runs from 13th- 26th May. We’ve a special message from Cardiff Council about how you can change a local child’s life.

Would you like to use your skills to make a difference to the lives of Cardiff’s young people? Do you long for a role where you can develop both personally and professionally? Are you looking for either a new role or an additional source of income?

Then Fostering could be for you!

Did you know that Cardiff currently has almost 900 cared for children? Cardiff Council is a corporate parent to each and every one of these children. This means we have a legal responsibility to ensure that Cardiff’s most vulnerable children and young people are placed within households that will support them to flourish and thrive. This may be a legal responsibility but it is one that we undertake with passion and pride.

Cardiff Council is a not for profit organisation. This may sound fairly obvious, but it’s important to stress that every single penny that comes into our foster services budget is spent on bettering the lives of children and young people here in the Capital.

Our main focus is to place our children within loving and supportive families that can support their needs. We believe that the best way to ensure this is to place young people with our own in-house Council employed Foster Carers.
