Commissioning and Procurement Service/Gwasanaeth Comisiynu a Chaffael
Provide access to expertise, advice and support on all procurement matters / Arbenigedd, cyngor a chymorth ar bob mater yn ymwneud â chaffael
Procurement is the term used to describe the whole process of buying any type of goods, services or works. This includes the first step of identifying whether there is a clear procurement need, finding out what different suppliers can offer, and then choosing, purchasing and using your goods or managing your services, right through to disposing of the used goods, or the end of the contract.

It is important that all schools have in place, and follow, basic procurement principles and guidance whenever they spend public money. This is to ensure that taxpayers' money is used in ways that are demonstrably open, fair, and represent value for money.

If you're new to public sector procurement, some of the rules and procedures can seem complex and time-consuming, but good procurement is simply a mix of planning upfront, and knowing and following the UK and EU legal requirements governing all public sector spending, and ensuring an open and transparent process for procuring goods and services.

Mae caffael yn derm a ddefnyddir i ddisgrifio’r broses gyfan o brynu unrhyw fath o nwyddau, gwasanaethau neu waith. Mae hyn yn cynnwys y cam cyntaf o nodi a oes angen caffael amlwg, cael gwybod yr hyn y gall darparwyr gwahanol ei gynnig, ac yna dewis, prynu a defnyddio eich nwyddau neu reoli eich gwasanaethau, hyd at waredu’r nwyddau wedi defnyddio, neu ddiwedd y contract.

Mae’n bwysig bod pob ysgol yn rhoi ar waith, ac yn dilyn, egwyddorion a chanllawiau caffael sylfaenol pryd bynnag y maent am wario arian y cyhoedd. Mae hyn i sicrhau y caiff arian y trethdalwyr ei ddefnyddio mewn ffyrdd sy’n agored, teg ac sy’n cynrychioli gwerth am arian.

Os ydych yn newydd i gaffael y sector cyhoeddus, gallai ymddangos bod nifer o’r rheolau a’r gweithdrefnau yn gymhleth a thrafferthus, mae caffael da dim ond yn gymysgedd o flaengynllunio, a gwybod am gofynion cyfreithiol y DU a’r UE sy’n llywodraethu holl wariant y sector cyhoeddus a’u dilyn, a sicrhau proses agored a thryloyw ar gyfer caffael nwyddau a gwasanaethau.

We’ve a special message from Cardiff Council about how you can change a local child’s life. Would you like to use your skills to make a difference to the lives of Cardiff’s young people? Do you long for a role where you can develop both personally and professionally? Are you looking for either a new role or an additional source of income? Then Fostering could be for you! Did you know that Cardiff currently has almost 900 cared for children? Cardiff Council is a corporate parent to each and every one of these children. This means we have a legal responsibility to ensure that Cardiff’s most vulnerable children and young people are placed within households that will support them to flourish and thrive. This may be a legal responsibility but it is one that we undertake with passion and pride. Cardiff Council is a not for profit organisation. This may sound fairly obvious, but it’s important to stress that every single penny that comes into our foster services budget is spent on bettering the lives of children and young people here in the Capital. Our main focus is to place our children within loving and supportive families that can support their needs. We believe that the best way to ensure this is to place young people with our own in-house Council employed Foster Carers. If you’d like to find out more please contact our friendly fostering team. You can do this by: Phone: Call them on 029 2087 3797 Monday - Thursday 8.30am-5pm and Friday 8.30 a.m. - 4.30 p.m. Website: Visit www.fostercarecardiff.co.uk Hubs: Pop into your local Hub and speak to our friendly Hub or Into Work staff.
